Our story

Hikaru was created to bring the centuries-old Japanese art of Kintsugi into the modern home. Practised for more than 500 years, Kintsugi honours breakage and repair as part of an object’s story, reflecting the wabi-sabi philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection, impermanence and care.
