Aurapel was born from childhood summers on the Maroochy River, where founder Kate spent afternoons fishing with her neighbour Jack: a Tenterfield country boy, former prisoner of war and gentle companion who would meet her at the bus stop for salt-laced adventures along the water.
Those days were bright with memory, but also marked by mosquitoes, midges and the sticky repellents Georgie never wanted to wear. Years later, after working briefly in pest control and seeing the chemical load often used to manage insects, she drew on her background in design and aromatherapy to create Aurapel: a natural insect repellent that protects skin, smells beautiful and sits more gently with the world around it.
