Black Chicken Remedies began in Bondi in 2000, when founder Chey Birch started questioning the everyday products she was using on her sensitive, irritated skin. With the guidance of a naturopath, she began looking more closely at conventional soaps, scrubs and cleansers, and found many were made with synthetic ingredients she no longer wanted in her routine.

Drawn to the healing intelligence of plants, Chey began blending essential oils and therapeutic botanical extracts by hand in her dining room. What started as a personal remedy soon became something to share, as friends began asking to try the soothing oil she had created. From that first bowl, Black Chicken Remedies grew into an Australian natural skincare brand devoted to caring for skin, body and mind through the power of nature.
