Our story

Founded in 2009 by Carla Oates, The Beauty Chef is founded on the belief that healthy skin starts in the gut. Its first iteration of Glow® helped pioneer the global inner beauty category, bringing the connection between digestive health, the microbiome and skin vitality into the mainstream.

Today, the brand continues to lead through research-led formulations developed by microbiologists, naturopaths and nutritionists. From fermented supernutrient powders and elixirs to capsules, chewables and topical skincare, each product is designed to support the gut and skin microbiomes in tandem — nourishing beauty from the inside out.

Conscious Packaging Practices. The Beauty Chef continuously re-evaluate their packaging, prioritising recycled, refillable, reusable, recyclable and compostable materials while working with APCO to improve packaging accountability and reduce environmental impact.

Certified, Responsible Ingredients. Certified Organic, biodynamic, local and plant-based ingredients are prioritised where possible, with strict selection criteria that favour non-GMO, cruelty-free formulas without artificial flavours, preservatives or colours.

Lower-Impact Environmental Commitments. From MSC-certified marine collagen and palm-oil-free formulas to renewable energy at their HQ and ongoing work toward net zero, The Beauty Chef take a considered approach to reducing their broader environmental footprint.
