We believe there is no separation
between nature, self and community, and that when we care for one, we care for all. Our reverence for nature is the
foundation of everything Orchard St.
offers, and guides every choice we make.
We source with reverence, choosing
ethical, sustainable, organic, biodynamic, wild and local ingredients wherever possible. We prioritise packaging that respects the nature that sustains us, whether recyclable, refillable, compostable or ecologically considered.
02 - PURITY IS POWER
Purity is sacred. We do not allow toxins, or shortcuts. Every ingredient is intentionally chosen for its purity, potency and purpose. Both our Orchard St. formulations and the ingredients and methods of our partners draw from nature, rather than synthetic origins. We are plant-based by conviction, with rare and ethical exceptions, and what we include matters as much as what we leave out.
Every ingredient serves a clear purpose: functional, energetic or spiritual. We select plant-based, organic, biodynamic and wild-harvested ingredients over synthetic ingredients, and we share exactly what goes into every formulation. There are no synthetic preservatives, no petroleum derivatives, no synthetic fragrance, no harsh surfactants, no environmental toxins. We don't take shortcuts and we only support sustainable and ethical practices for animal products.

04 - TUNED INTO WISDOM & SCIENCE
We resonate with both: the wisdom traditional practitioners have observed over centuries and what modern science is discovering now. We believe both matter and truth can live in the space between; in the humility to respect what we don't yet understand, and the rigour to verify what we think we know.
Our formulations draw on plant medicine wisdom validated where possible by modern science, and on careful observation where research is still unfolding. We select ingredients grounded in peer-reviewed research when it exists. When an ingredient has strong traditional use but limited modern studies, we are clear about the tradition and the research status. We do not claim that centuries of use equal clinical proof. Equally, we do not dismiss traditional knowledge because science hasn't caught up yet.
05 - BEAUTY CARRIES ENERGY
Form is never superficial. In nature,
form and function are inseparable, and so it is with everything we offer. Thoughtful, natural design and intentional detail shape how we feel, how we connect, and the energy with which we move through the world.
Every detail is intentional, from the weight of a vessel in your hand to the natural scent when you open a jar, the palette of a label, the atmosphere of our spaces. We curate for beauty that evolves inside and out, because what is made with care tends to be received with care.

Our offerings are designed to become
part of our rituals, whether a morning skincare practice, a nightly supplement, a seasonal ceremony or a moment of pause in our day. We create or the rhythm of real life, because wellbeing lives in what we do.
OUR INGREDIENT STANDARDS (Our No list)
Every ingredient, intentionally chosen
Our Natural Lores guide what we welcome in. They are equally thoughtful about what we approach with greater discernment. We believe ingredients carry consequence: for the body, the earth and future generations. These standards exist to reduce cumulative toxic load while prioritising formulations that are as naturally intelligent as they are effective. Rather than chasing absolute perfection, we seek integrity, transparency and intentionality across everything we curate.
NOT WELCOME
Synthetic Fragrance & Phthalates
Due to concerns around sensitisation, hormone disruption and unnecessary chemical load.
Harsh Sulphates (SLS/SLES)
To support the integrity of the skin barrier and microbiome.
Petrochemical Derivatives
Including mineral oil, paraffin and certain PEGs, due to their highly processed nature and environmental persistence.
Persistent Synthetic Polymers
We prioritise formulations with lower environmental impact and seek to minimise ingredients linked to long-term environmental persistence wherever possible.
Formaldehyde Releasers & Triclosan
Due to concerns around long-term toxicity and endocrine disruption.
Excessive Fillers & Cosmetic Additives
We favour purposeful formulations over dilution and unnecessary synthetics.
NOT WELCOME
Artificial Colours, Flavours & Sweeteners
Due to their highly processed nature and cumulative burden on the body.
Unnecessary Fillers & Binders
We prioritise bioavailable, purposeful formulations.
GMO & Irradiated Ingredients
Where possible, we favour ingredients grown in alignment with biodiversity and soil health.
Ingredients with Heavy Metal or Pesticide Contamination Risk
We prioritise brands that undertake rigorous purity and contaminant testing.
Unethical Animal-Derived Ingredients
Including ingredients linked to ecological harm, cruelty or non-transparent sourcing practices.
USED WITH DISCERNMENT
Some ingredients exist in more nuanced territory, particularly within clean makeup, SPF, preservation systems and advanced therapeutic formulations.
In these cases, we consider: concentration, processing methods, current safety research.
Titanium Dioxide & Mineral Pigments
Accepted selectively, only in non-nano form and where essential for product performance and safety.
Preservation Systems
We recognise preservation is necessary for product safety. We favour low-toxicity, well-researched systems wherever possible.
Potent Essential Oils & Active Botanicals Nature can be potent, particularly for sensitive skin and nervous system health. We ensure these are used intentionally and in balanced concentrations.
