Bluem was founded by Montana Lower during her first pregnancy with her daughter, Blue. Already immersed in natural living through her years of activism, Montana was struck by how many active skincare products she could no longer use while pregnant — and how difficult it was to find formulas that felt safe, effective and deeply considered.

Though she never set out to create a skincare line, Montana saw an opportunity to continue her activist work in a new form: creating pregnancy-safe, planet-conscious skincare that supports women through motherhood, hormonal change and the many transitions of the body.
