Ruco Paints is the work of Marlena Taylor, a professional watercolour artist and mother based in Northern New South Wales. Each paint is made by hand using slow, traditional methods, creating vegan, artist-grade colours with the care and intimacy of a studio practice.

The brand began as a way for Marlena to stay creative alongside her children, and to move through grief after the passing of her grandmother, Ruth. Its name, Ruco, is a quiet tribute — drawn from “Ruthie’s Colours” — carrying memory, play and art-making into every tiny ceramic pot and wooden box.
