Quiet Earth

Our story

Northern Rivers, NSW

Quiet Earth was created by two home cooks, Deepa Ramakrishnan and Cade McConnell, with a shared prayer: to bring reverence into the modern kitchen. Rooted in the ancient technology of clay cookware, the brand honours cooking as a sacred act — one shaped by time, presence and care, rather than convenience.

It's two founders have their own journey to clay cooking. For Deepa, cooking in clay is a return to ancestral ways. Raised in a rural coastal town in Tamil Nadu, she carries the influence of family lineages devoted to feeding, ritual and Ayurvedic practice. For Cade, clay cooking became a daily practice after time spent in Sri Lanka, deepening his connection to food, land and traditional methods.

Together, Quiet Earth offers clay cookware as a vessel for nourishment and reconnection — to our food, our bodies and the old wisdom held in the earth.

Ancient materials, lasting use. Quiet Earth works with clay cookware, an enduring material used across cultures for thousands of years. Made for slow, repeated use rather than convenience cooking, each piece invites a lower-waste rhythm in the kitchen.

Consciousness over convenience. Based on from-scratch cooking, small-scale organic farming and traditional foodways, Quiet Earth encourages a more connected relationship with nourishment and seasonality.
