Shemana was born in Avalon in 2012, from a deep friendship and a shared restlessness with a world that had forgotten how to slow down. Anna and Jaymie came together at the intersection of healing arts and plant-based cosmetics to formulate skincare, elixirs and perfumes designed to return ritual to the ordinary moment. In 2013, the Green Beauty Awards recognised Shemana as a trailblazer for bringing essence medicine into daily self-care at a time when almost no one else was.

More than a decade on, the founding vision is unchanged. Everything is still made in-house, in small batches, with the same integrity it was built on. The brand has since become known worldwide for its extraordinary mists, launched a celebrated new skincare range, and opened House of Shemana, a flagship store and wellness space in Byron Bay.
