Used traditionally by Mayan Indians, Damiana works as a nervine tonic, mildly stimulating and boosting mood as well as libido. These aphrodisiac properties have been recorded for centuries and with damiana working to both relax and gently stimulate it makes perfect sense.

Dandelion leaf

An effective diuretic and mild choleretic (stimulates bile production), the leaf of dandelion is useful for reducing fluid retention and enhancing liver function.

Dandelion root

Traditionally used in cases of liver insufficiency, dandelion root has bitter and mild laxative properties. It stimulates the production and release of bile, thus assisting the excretion of fat-soluble toxins.

Fennel

Traditionally used as a carminative in the treatment of colic, flatulence and IBS. The seeds are coated with sugar in Indian cuisine and chewed following a meal to ease digestion. Used in breastfeeding, fennel is an affective galactagogue, stimulating the production and release of breast milk.

Goji berries

Also known as wolfberry, goji naturally assists diabetics, is rich in antioxidants and dates back thousands of years to monks obtaining greater health, vitality, longevity, energy and stamina.

Green tea

Dating back 5000 years, the leaves of Camellia Sinensis are second only to water as the world’s most popular beverage. Numerous studies have demonstrated anti-carcinogenic and antioxidant properties. Green tea is used as a neuroprotective, both before and after toxicity as well as in cased of heavy metal poisoning. Containing approximately 3% caffeine and is rich in polyphenols - the interaction between the two attributed to Green tea’s ‘thermogenic’ (fat burning) effect.

Hops

Traditionally used to add the bitter quality to beer. Native American use as a hypnotic oestrogenic… female pickers often began to menstruate 2 days after beginning to pick hops. Enough beer can produce these effects. Sedative, relaxant, antispasmodic.

Lavender

Red Lily is the same flower as the Sacred Lotus in the Buddhist tradition. It is for spirituality and connection to God in a grounded and centred way, allowing a person to have a wholeness to their spirituality by also realising the need to develop and maintain a balanced physical and emotional life.
