Among Equals works with communities in Papua New Guinea to produce these beautiful, ethical woven bags. Made from handwoven acrylic and wool yarn, as well as upcycled knitwear, this handwoven tote holds all your things, whilst supporting artisan communities and 600 ancestral weavers. The Lina Bag has a pattern inspired by the backbone of a pig, traditionally shared with people of high status after a feast.

Among Equals has created a livelihood intervention for the women weavers of Papua New Guinea, one that enables them to break cycles of gendered violence, to support their children’s education, to afford food and healthcare, and to build better lives for themselves and their families. Through their partnership, the tradition of Bilum-weaving and storytelling is honoured and continues to cross generations from mother to daughter.
