How to tend your flame: A practice in attention

• Candle care is simple ritual. Small acts that honour the material and extend its life. Use these steps each time you burn your candle.
• Place the pillar on a heat-proof dish or candleholder and on a stable, heat-proof surface*
• Remove any paper labels
• Trim the wick to 5–7 mm before each burn
• Burn for at least 2 hours, or until the melt pool reaches the edge, to prevent tunnelling and extend burn life
• Keep away from drafts, children, pets and flammable materials
• Never leave a candle unattended
• Avoid moving a lit or hot candle

*TIP: To remove residual beeswax from a candleholder simply put the candleholder in the freezer for 20 minutes. Remove the dish and insert a metal skewer into the cold wax. Twist the skewer and pull out the wax.
